Clothing tips
• lightweight and ventilated
• lightweight raincoat and plastic bag for camera in the rainy season
• rubber soled shoes (vs leather) - the teple steps are steep!
Useful accessories
• sun glasses, sun hat, sunscreen, cotton hankerchief - to mop that perspiration! Pack of moist baby wipes is a good choice
• torch - useful for sunrise, sunset and wandering around town after dark
• small hands-free day pack to carry water, film, sunscreen etc.
• insect repellent(DEET) - especially for dawn and dusk outings
Photographic advice
• tripod - quite dim inside some temples, sunrise and sunset
• plenty of film - one of the most photogenic places on earth
• any specialist or professional films (ordinary films available)
Documents and currency
• at least two extra passport photos (entry visa at airport and entry pass to Angkor temple complex)
• plenty of US$ currency especially 1$ bills (many trinkets cost 1$; ”two whistles for a dollar” etc.) - see our page on Cambodian money
• photocopy of your passport to keep separate somewhere
• consider applying in advance for the temple entry pass in high season
